Description
Just trying some trades here. Go ahead and add some feedback.
As a fan of the Wild I guess I would rather trade for prospects and futures but because of cap constraints all around the league, and the desire of ownership to always be competitive I think this seems more likely.
Trades
1.
MIN
  1. Toffoli, Tyler
Additional Details:
Toffoli is a right shot wing which Wild lack and provides cost certainty at a reasonable cap hit.
MTL
  1. Fiala, Kevin
Additional Details:
Fiala is young enough to still be good when Montreal begins to peak again.
2.
NYI
  1. Greenway, Jordan
  2. Kähkönen, Kaapo
Additional Details:
Wild clearly don't trust Kahkonen and Talbot has been leakey this season so Wild look to bolster their goaltending. Sorkin is the number 1 now so I believe Varlamov to be available.

Only issue I see here is Habs can't really fit Fiala in the cap this year and definitely won't be able to next year.

In this climate, and being we have Talbot, and just spent 1st round picks for jasper wallstedt, why trade greenway, and cheaper, and younger potentially improving backup in Kaapo kahkonen for a guy with horrible domestic violence history he never apologized for, nor shown any remorse? That's my only criticism about your proposal

I remember hearing something years ago when Varlamov was in Colorado about domestic abuse, but that went away, I guess. Not sure on his personal issues since then or if he has had some kind of therapy/treatment since then. I'm hoping he is a reformed citizen but if he is not then yeah leave him in NY.
I personally would like to see Wild sit Talbot down for a couple games and ride Kahkonen. I think Kahkonen needs to play more to get in his groove. However Dean has shown such little confidence in Kaapo, I am resolved to trading for help. Wallstedt will eventually be the man but that's 2 or 3 years down the road and Wild will likely look to pair him with a more experienced vet.

Yes, this is one side of testimony in court; But the type of crime for which he wasn't aplayer of elite, and his wife wasn't a spouse of Russian superstar, it would have been bad career ending for him. But this is the accusation in which she testify in civil court. She was afraid to go ahead with criminal case against him. His own lawyer said the pics of the assault wasn't supposedly ad bad the money she was seeking. For me personally, I don't want a player who hid behind a lawyer, being a superstar, and Russian as a reason to not be remorseful. If that happened today, very good chance his career is over.
