doubt you're getting a first back for Duchene with Slavin involved.

Even if they give up Grigorenko?

If the Avs don't get close to their asking price for Duchene or Landeskog, they might as well keep them. Slavin and a first for Duchene seems close enough. But if the Avs want 3-4 pieces in any deal for Duchene or Landy, beggars can't be choosers. They should take a deal from the highest bidder. I don't think a 1 for 1 trade will make a big impact. They need assets and depth in the organization. Get as many picks/prospects as possible.

Also, I would rather see Barrie in that trade with a lesser pick for Drouin. I don't think Johnson is part of the problem with the defense. A Johnson/Hedman pairing would be sick for Tampa though.

As an avs fan, I'm not a huge fan of Barrie, but I don't think he is better than Johnson. I think Johnson is the much more complete defender. Barrie is just too unreliable on defense. The only reason I give up Johnson in this trade is that the Avs new 'core' in my opinion have a cup window that will not fit into Johnson's prime, which is now. I think that is a fair trade for Tampa.
