3 way trade:
Mtl trades Price to Seattle.
Mtl retains 3.5 mill.
Seattle flips Price to Colorado and retains 1.5mill.
Avs get Price at 5.5 mill for 4 more years.

Mtl sends a 2nd rd pick 2022 and a 3rd rd pick in 2024 to Seattle as compensation for retaining 1.5 mill for 4 more years.

Avs send a 2nd rd pick in 2023 to the Kraken for Price

Avs send a 2023 3rd pick, Newhook, Bowers and Kuemper to the Habs.

I only have 2 teams where I think Price can win a cup on. Now Obv trading 10.5 mill is tricky. Habs will have to retain a lot, but they get 2 good young players in return.

Seattle has to retain 1.5 mill for 4 years, but they get 2 second rd picks, and 1 4th rd pick for that,

Avs get Price at 5.5 mill at 4 more years.

Habs get newhook, bowers, and kuemper.

Thoughts Avs fans? obv the kraken can be switched for another team (Yotes?)

It's an emphatic no from Colorado. Newhook will absolutely not be part of the return in the very unlikely event the Avs go after Price.

If you get the AAV down to 4M or so and take out Newhook then there is at least something to think about. Otherwise they aren't committing to an aging goalie who has some off-ice issues.

price's contract is too long. even at $4.5m the last two years arent worth it for the avs, certainly at that price. but at $4.5m i don't think price is a cap dump anymore, id say thats fair salary for him just doesn't fit for the avs. can't have him being a passenger at $4.5m in the last few years when the team is in prime contention.

if the avs need a goalie, not clear yet if they do, allen would be a better fit.

Avs do not want Price, even retained hes not worth his contract and in no way would he ever get newhook from the avs or a newhook level young player from any team

No from COL. Why do MTL fans seem to think a 34yr old guy that hasn’t played this year has any value. On no planet is COL trading Newhook. This is all so delusional.
