Description
With Kane's contract termination (pending still) we'll most likely be able to keep Hertl and resign him. If he's resigning with the Sharks it would probably be a short term deal to see if the Sharks improve soon, if they don't he'll likely ask privately for a trade and the Sharks would get even more value for him. Being too good to be bad and too bad to be good, the 2022 1st is around 11-15 overall. In this situation with no 2nd and seeing how underrated he is on NHL's central scouting's North American Skaters rank, DW Jr. probably selects Frank Nazar.

With moving Bonino at the draft to a Vancouver team looking to bounce back, Sharks open up a chance for several players to compete for the 3C spot. Bordeleau, Robins, Nazar, Reedy, and Chmelevski all battle for it similar to the 4C race last camp; Bordeleau comes ahead an plays opening night. He'll know he has to keep pushing himself because there's players eyeing his spot, so it'll be a season long drive to do better.

Vlasic buyout to open up more cap, penalty isn't that bad actually. Burns can be bout out next year if he preforms poorly the 2022-2023 season.

Top priorities throughout the season would be (in order of what I think is most important):
1. Meier extension, do not let it get close to QO.
2. Make sure prospects develop smoothly without hiccups.
3. Give rookies lots of playing time.
4. Hope for Labanc bounce back to grow trade value.
5. Hill extension.
6. R. Merkley extension.
7. Knyzhov strong return season.

Additional Details:
Support to help the PK. Probably not a player to be played consistently, but if COVID strikes he'll be a reliable option.

PIT
  1. Leonard, John
Additional Details:
Give him an opportunity with a fresh start. Pittsburg tends to get the most out of their players and Leonard would be a younger addition to keep them going. He's solid defensively, just needs to put it together offensively

pretty spot on, i feel Middleton will be traded to open a spot for either Kinazev or Hatakka, or to keep vlasic one last year and buy him out in 2023 when we will need the cap space, i see knyzhov taking a shorter deal looking as he might miss this whole season and who knows if he will be the same player next year.
and Burns will play out his contract in full, mainly because when his deal ends we will need to pay Eklund and Bordeleau. and 8 mil could be split so both players get bridge deals Eklund 4 yr 6 mil Bordeleau 4 yr 5 mil

Last thing Ottawa needs is a not very good dman who is "hard hitting".

Ottawa is not spending a 4th round pick on a cap dump that would be our 7th best LD.

Try again.

The Avs are pretty deep on the wings right now, and will get deeper if they add a top/middle-six scoring forward. That said, Sakic has a bit of a history with bringing back former players and the Avs PK is a disaster right now. I’d love to have Nieto back in a depth/PK role and I think that price is pretty reasonable.

It was more of a simplification of Simek. He’s looked good as of late and can shut down offense at the blue line. Can help bring down Chabots constant cardio.
