Description
There has been talks that Canadian teams like MTL will have a hard time acquiring UFAs the next few years because of the Covid restriction in the country.

Therefore, I believe it is better to keep our assets (excepts the one that want out and pending UFAS) and do a quick reset. Selling our entire team is not gonna solve anything... and the chances are that the prospect replacing them won't be as good.

Kids need that veteran leadership - so lets tank and regroup next year (preferably with a new coach).

Send Caufield the Poehling route: give him time in the AHL to master his craft and do his homework.

I would however, trade one of the RW, Armia and Chariot.

Everyone on LTIR should not return next year.

you can't not attract free agents and do a quick reset. A quick reset would be head out and sign hertl or Giroux and pick up a top 4 lhd. the in between bull**** is the killer. go get Giroux and Chychrun(as an example) or rebuild

next year we should either target Bedard or the cup

I think Canadian teams having difficulty attracting American UFAs due to Covid restrictions. Family movement restrictions. Probably doesn't affect Europeans at all. But Montreal can be more difficult for the any families relocating to Quebec...language, education and jobs. And now with the hockey club kinda in a mess...that plays a part too.

Why would the Habs want to attract UFA's for the foreseeable future? They are rebuilding. Adding veteran depth to teach the kids is easy if they need it. Adding veteran depth that also can score and win you games is tough but who cares? Habs are rebuilding. They don't need those players right now. The only thing that can get a good UFA to come here over another team is if we have a good team. We get the good team by drafting stud prospects. Not trotting this lot out again and again.

Don't worry about not signing UFA's. Worry about not drafting Wright, Bedard and Kiviharju in the next 3 drafts. Or at the very least the next best players available after those guys.
