Description
Caps really need some speed. Garland and McCann add that and more. This would be a very deep team for years. Trade Eller in the summer and bring in McMichael.
Trades
1.
WSH
  1. 2022 5th round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
ARI gets a good depth defensemen that they can eat half of and flip.
ARI
  1. Kempný, Michal
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (WSH)
2.
WSH
  1. 2022 3rd round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Schultz can go to any competitive team needing RHD depth. He's a good #4 puck mover that can QB a PP. I picked NSH b/c they are weak on the RHD and currently have Ekholm running their 2nd unit PP. Schultz would be an upgrade.

But he can go to any team, doesn't need to be NSH.
3.
BUF
  1. 2022 6th round pick (WSH)
4.
WSH
  1. Garland, Conor
Additional Details:
I'm using the Toffoli trade as an example: 1st+5th+4th liner+B prospect. Instead of doing a 4th liner and B prospect, I just added Pilon who is NHL top 9 ready. Very skilled, quick forward that plays any position. Caps have no room for him. He can instantly help Vancouver.

If you think Caps should add more then that's fine but it won't be anything major (ie high pick or A prospect).
VAN
  1. Pilon, Garrett
  2. 2022 1st round pick (WSH)
  3. 2022 5th round pick (WSH)
5.
WSH
  1. McCann, Jared
Additional Details:
I'd hate to trade Sprong and Lapierre but it's the price that will have to be paid. Sprong should thrive in SEA with top 6 time. Lap is going to be a very good playmaking top 6 center and should be NHL ready next season. Hags is overpaid but still a high end 4th liner.

If you think Caps should add more then that's fine but it won't be anything major (ie high pick or A prospect).

I don’t think Canucks fans will like the fact that you’re literally sending them a Pilon lol. But I’m sure they will all say “Carlson or no deal” 😂

I think we would have to pay more for garland. Also send eller away and get a better 3c that could finish

Its just so hard for Caps to trade for anyone that has term. They barely have enough money to sign their goalies next year let alone add any player to their cap. Moving Ellers and Hagelin only frees up around 6mil and Garland plus McCann will be around 9-10mil.

Since Garland has term, how would you feel about McMichael + a little bit?
