I like Roy.

I don't see Arizona using a cap dump space for Ritchie.

The Kings are currently in 2nd in the Pacific why should they keep making rebuild moves?

Points percentage has the Kings out of the playoffs (played 47 games so far).

With Drew Doughty, Matt Roy, Sean Durzi, and Sean Walker on the right-side.

Brandt Clarke, Helge Grans, Brock Faber, and Jordan Spence also all play on the right-side.

Not suggesting this is the right trade but one of these guys in the current lineup COULD become available.

Only Calgary and Vegas have better points %. Both Moneypuck and Hockey Reference see them as a playoff team edging out both the Ducks and Oilers currently. A bubble team yes, but out of the playoff picture? No. I'd think even by March you couldn't say that unless things go very poorly (the Kings had one of the hardest schedules in the league to start the season, and the easiest to end the season)

Besides this team is already without Walker, Edler for the season, losing another shut down type who plays the third-most minutes puts a nail in the coffin of a team that is outperforming their expectations.

Possibly the log jam starts next year, but even then Walker can play both sides. No need to rush Clarke or Durzi and none of those players are better defensively than Matt Roy.

Not suggesting it would happen this season but ONE of the current RD’s could become available.
