Koskinen is paid a straight salary of $4.5M, Halak has a base salary of $1.5M and bonuses built into his contract. If he plays 10 games he earns an extra $1.25M, and if he has a Sv% of .905 or better he gets an additional $250k. At this point Halak has played in 9 games and his Sv% is .918. It is almost certain that he is going to be paid $3M this season.

I think he could be a good TDL acquisition for the Oilers, perhaps not if it involves a 2nd round pick though.
