Bit much for a rental.

Should Tippett get moved, it's going to be for a Chychrun trade.

Issue is I dont see Florida parting for Lundell or Knight and thats who Arizona is gonna want in any Chycrun trade. Tippett will be the 2nd part of the package along with picks. Then again Florida traded this years first which hurts the package a bit

Honestly maybe Tippett for Kravstov.

Same age same potential.

Seems like the perfect 1 for 1 as certain aspects balance it out. Krav was a higher pick while Tip is more established.

I don't like it for FLA.

One of them is a NHL player. One of them is a KHL player.

One of them has attitude issue. One of them does not, at least reportedly.

Imo it's a no-brainer for FLA to keep Tippett.

As for trading for Chychrun, how about trading Chychrun+Vejmelka for Knight+Tippett+Samoskevich+Hörnqvist+2023 1st? That would solve the immediate goalie issue for FLA, Vejmelka would be a solid 1B/2A goalie for Bobrovsky, whose contract is going to run long-term.

I could see that but...

Arizona apparently got a sweet offer for Vajmelka by Edmonton but the Coyotes want to extend him and turned it down. Now if that deal was offered would they do it maybe... But would Zito do it. After all losing Levi (whose been a monster) and Knight (goalie of the future) could really come back to bite the team in a few years as I know its an all in year (next year and beyond issues with cap) but I dont know if he risks it.

Will be a wait and see kind of situation. I personally think despite the reports Chyrcun will end up with the Rangers or Kings but who knows anymore. As speculations have been really quiet so far and usually they are buzzing lul.

Vejmelka is probably ARI's priority option, but getting Knight would probably change their pov.

I don't think Zito ideally wants to trade Knight given he already moved Levi, but if he wants to contend now Chychrun is going to be a massive piece for them. I think he'd end up being more important in the, say, next five years than Knight would, because at the end of the day FLA already have a goalie costing them $10M who is signed long-term.

It's always nice to have a future goaltender but you never know what's going to happen with those prospects. I mean even Leafs chose Justin Pogge over Tuukka Rask.

I think it's better for them to go for it now over playing the waiting game...but who knows.
