Description
We're in the middle of a pretty easy stretch against some bottom tier opponents, which is nice because we're getting some needed road wins, but it doesn't really give us a good idea of how we stack up against playoff teams. I'd say we have about 2 weeks left of the "dog days" where you just try to bank points and stay the course before the intensity ramps up and games start to have real value.

I'm looking at that stretch vs NYR, PIT, NSH and WIN as a pretty good indicator of how well we are built for the playoffs and whether or not we make a "big" move at the deadline. We'll definitely make some sort of trade, just depends if its gonna be for a Chyckrun, Soucy, Chirot type or for a depth player like we when we got MDZ in 2019. We could go either way but what's certain is DA will not overpay. So unless we get a discount from ARI, or Chriot for a 3rd or steal Graves for a middle pick/prospect, we probably already know what our starting line-up looks like. We are also against the cap which complicates things, not to say we couldn't move some parts around but we don't have the room a team like Minnesota has.

I'm not going to make any prognostications about what moves DA makes at the TDL, this is just what I think fills the only hole the team has that is somewhat realistic, its just hard to know how many suitors there might be for a single player and therefore what the value would be.

*Quick notes about players after last night*
- RT is unreal. If I were a winger I would love to play w him.
- 91 looks like he is having fun with Buchy/RT. Lets keep him happy.
- ROR/Saad/DP finally look like they are sustaining some o-zone time with the cycle. Great news.
- Schenn is playing great. Love his willingness to play anywhere Chief has him.
- Kyrou has looked off since ASG.
- Good to see Barby finally score last night, bit of a drought for him.
- Kostin has found another level, i think he is settling in on the 4th line w Sunny.
- Nice to flexibility b/w Bozy and Joshua.
- Faulk is a leader on this team. 5hits and 5Blocks last night.
- Krug/55 ehh still want to see more.
- Walman looks confident.
- Mikkola/Bobo might work better as a pair than on separate lines
- Binner is still our #1 for playoffs
* Also wanted to say I was really impressed by Ristolainen. I know he is probably off-limits and doesn't fit on our team but he is a physical guy i would love to have.

For all the buzz about a possible Chychrun trade I don't think the Coyotes end up moving him. He's a good young player at a cost-controlled contract for the next 3 years after this one.

Seems to me the exact player that the Coyotes should be building around, not trading away. But that's me.

I don't think he gets dealt unless the Coyotes get pretty darn close to exactly what they're looking for in order to move him, which I think will be too much, and out of the Blues' ability to put a package together that another team wouldn't be able to match/so prohibitively costly that it's not worth it.

It's basically a blow us away or we keep him. Arizona doesn;t have to move him but they will for the right return

Maybe, neighbours looked pretty solid for a young guy. The team also really like how he carried himself off the ice. I wouldn't say he's untouchable like Kyrou and Thomas might be but Neighbours, Perunovich and a 1st might be a stretch. Probably not something i'd see DA doing.
