    Tbf OEL was thought as a #1 dman back then, Hughes would have been available at that spot along with some other top tier NHLERs and with Tavares as your number 1 center i can see the logic behind it AT THE TIME obviously looking back now it would have been a terrible trade for the leafs but at the time the value wouldn't be half bad with a bit more coming back an example being Keller

    It was pre tavares which adds to the puzzling nature of the article

    I mean you have Reilly if I traded Matthews it be for honestly one good top player and a lot of depth to help out
