Detroit accepts, stastny and Beaulieu don't get anywhere close to that kind of return.

Don’t need LHD at all and can’t fit Monaghan’s cap, and don’t want him anyway..

Calgary would more or less be paying that return for cap relief regarding Monahan. 6.375 in the upcoming off season to negotiate the big deals. Monahan is a really tough contract to move right now.

Jets accept only if they can flip Monahan. They already have a center who doesn't play any defence. They don't want another one.

Fair enough, prospect would be an easy change I think, Whynot is one of those lottery ticket guys. In posting this I kind of had in mind Schiefele moving on in the off season and some sell off at the deadline that could fit in the extra 1.375 going to Winnipeg in the above deal. Getting a second and a prospect for Stastny and Beaulieu seems like a good return in itself, Monahan is a salary piece for Calgary.
