Description
This is obviously assuming no roster players get moved in a major trade at the deadline... I am assuming Justin Barron gets traded, so I won't be putting him in the lineup.

I like this group to start the year, with cap flexibility to make additions at the deadline.

I love Burakovsky, but if/when Kadri leaves they'll need to replace him at C... And I think Nichushkin should be the priority over Burky. Nichushkin is the better 200 ft player, and his cost is likely lower. I also think with Newhook and Olausson on the way up, Burakovsky's offense can be replace. I don't think they have the pieces to replace everything Nichushkin does, especially without Kadri.

Most of the prices and terms feel right to me. I like the Sanford addition. I would not assume Barron gets traded. If Sakic makes a big move, I'd think it's Helleson, possibly Behrens, but I think he'd have to get a lot to let go of Barron; think "a difference-maker that's more than a rental" type of trade.

That’s a good point on Barron. It depends on who they end up trading with. If it’s Philly or Vancouver, I could see both of those teams holding out for Barron b/c they’re both looking for NHL ready prospects.

I think if they insist on Barron, no deal.
