Hoffman is a terrible 200 foot player. Maybe someone will pay a 2 2nds for him but Washington has no use for him. If anything we are looking for an upgrade on defense or a true #1 goalie. He’s neither

Keep Hoffman until a prospect kick him out of the lineup, then trade him for a 2nd.
Kulak trade is good.
I keep Dvorak because i think his trade value is better. But if GM and coach think Monahan is a better fit, i don't mind.
Only trade for McBain if he sign here.
Keep Armia, i don't mind paying him next year, and if he play well, his value raise and we trade him.

Based it off how their PP struggled in the early season, not sure if its still as bad but Hoffman would help that. if its better then ya no need for Washington to add Hoffman.

I think we already have the prospects and players to get hoffman out Tbh, especially if we are going for short term rebuild

Monahan frees up money faster and would allow them to make a splash in FA sooner (in the case of a short rebuild)

Yeah McBain needs to be signed if we are gonna trade for him

and Armia could be moved next year but I like the idea of having Ylonen up in the NHL under MSL for as long as possible.

PP has improved a lot as of recent, the return of Oshie has really rejuvenated the PP. Hoffman wouldn't be feasible in DC anyway due to the current cap situation and the length of his deal. Would likely end up being more of a cap detriment than an improvement.
