If the Flyers were actually planning on doing a rebuild then sure probably.

However, since they are going to try and retool doesn't make sense to take on a cap dump.

I don't know man giroux being traded is symbolic i think. It's time to tank and get another franchise center or two.

Flyers Management has already come out and said they aren't rebuilding and that they have the talent on the roster to be a playoff team. Trading Giroux wasn't even on the table until they started sucking.

It cost us a second round pick to move two years of a contract for a dman that plays 22mins a night and is on a 50pt pace. Seems light to eat two years of a depth forward while sending an RFA along for the ride
