Description
-I keep and extend Bozak, JVR and Komarov
-I bring back Boyle for 4th line centre, why wouldn't I. Hopefully he can rub of on Gauthier.
-I sign 2 youngish Dmen who were big prospects a few years ago in hopes they are late bloomers or the leafs coaches and staff can help them reach the potential the scouts seen a few years ago.
-I go get that young stud RHD that the leafs are looking for. Trouba, paying a lot for him but whatever it takes besides nhl roster players.
- To explain the Trouba trade a little better...
1. I think Bracco will be a top 6 forward but at RW I don't see him getting a chance with the leafs.
2. I think Dermott will be a very good LHD proabaly a second pairing guy but again with Rielly and Gardiner that's the top 2 on the left side and I think Andrew Nielsen will be better then Dermott. Plus the talks of Calle Rosen who is also a LHD.
3 Leipsic is a very good prospect but again with the depth the leafs have on LW he becomes expendable.
4. 2019 1st rounder should be higher then 20th by then so the chances of finding a stud RHD are slim
5. The 3rd rounder is for added value

The Jets have some aging players that will soon need replacing and adding these types of players will be great for them too.
Trouba has already requested a trade and with Myers back next year he'll be getting less time plus the Jets are getting a great LHD prospect in return and they need some depth here.

IMO that's way to much for Trouba

Bracco a stud? He hasn't shown any indications of being an NHL stud. Much like Leipsic, 23 years old, a bare sniff at the NHL, doesn't bode well of really being a consequential NHLer. I don't know the Leafs would rush to get Trouba, he's going to be a UFA in three years. But if as you suggest Bracco, Leipsic, Dermott and maybe the other pieces are NHLers, why would the Leafs do the trade?

I like the idea of using winger prospects to get a defenseman, but when Trouba was asking for a trade he was specific in saying to an American team. Desrocher is still a decent prospect IMO could use a few years in junior but I like the signing.
