I feel like LA should definitely do that trade. Getting paid to take on Kassian is smart....and what EDM should do even if EDM fans think he has value, but that cap room for actual good players would be better....

Monahan has to waive his clause, I would doubt he'd want to go to ARI.

Arizona is the land of new opportunities, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he waives to Arizona to try me reignite his career. I mean, look at Ritchie, Boyd, Ghost and a couple of the older vets like Ladd and Eriksson. They all got second chances and they definitely made the most of it. So if Monahan were to perform really well in Arizona, he could be dealt for a high price at the deadline with retention to a contending team for him to have a chance at the cup.

The issue there is all those guys were toast. What ARI has going for them is they have cap room. Not sure how many teams would trade for him, but I wouldn't mind him on the Devils 3rd line if it meant Mercer stayed with Hughes and Holtz had Monahan to work with coming up. That of course I'd want a pick for a toxic contract but I could live with a 3rd

Would rather have Clarke than Grans from LA. Otherwise, your thoughts are solid.
