I don't think DET will have to give up that much for Martinez. VGK doesn't have much leverage at the moment.

Not sure adding both trocheck AND palat at that money and term makes sense with all the new contracts that will be needed over the next 2 years

Veleno should be on the team. He's better than Stephens. I wouldn't even qualify him. No need to trade Lindstrom. Vegas has no leverage. If McCrimmon wants to be a dick tell him to F off and call the Pens or Jets about Pettersson/Schmidt. I'm no Desmith fan. Stay away from him.

I prefer Wedgewood myself but could live with Holtby. Maybe Stevie trades for a goalie like he did with Ned. 2C is a big need so I'm fine with Trochek. But I think he could use Detroit to jack up his price for the Canes or other teams. I think Palat is a possibility with Stevie drafting him in Tampa. He knows him very well. Palat is a winner and can show the young players how to win. He'd have to take a big discount to stay in Tampa. I believe Palat looks for a retirement deal.

I still believe we could be in the Forsberg sweepstakes.
