Supposedly Detroit is very in on Forsberg, like I would expect most teams to be.

I'd rather see Kapanen and/or Alex Nylander snatched away from Pittsburgh than getting Forsberg and then the money spent on getting whoever of Copp/Strome Rangers will walk. I don't se Veleno ever becoming a 2C.

We do have the beginnings of a good team here.

I do agree that fixing the centre position is a bigger need of the team, but Forsberg is elite in comparison to any of the centres available. Best of the centres being Trocheck. I don't think Copp will totally be worth what he will get paid and I don't think Strome is good without Panarin. The wings would get clogged to a bit but that's not such a bad thing. And veleno given a full season between 2-3C would really help him I think.

Veleno doesn't have the playmaking skills to play 2C, we'd be starving our wingers on that line, especially Vrána, with him as centre. I can see Veleno doing the defensive work if Berggren or Raymond is on the line doing the playmaking part but that's not a second line next year.

Forsberg is indeed elite and I'd love him on the team but, as you say, a centre is a higher priority.

I am expecting that Detroit either drafts or trades for a centre that is capable of playing 2C within 2 years time. I'm not too worried about it now.
