Description
Last season, Arizona took on bad or expiring contracts from other teams to get more picks and prospects. This thread will be similar to what they had done.

Since a thread brought up a Lucic trade, I will have to repeat for getting the 2nd rounder since we are also getting Monahan in return which can achieve 2 things in a single action for Calgary.

Some of the other trades were for other more cap teams to help hit the cap floor although the returns may not be great. Another one of these trades is if Boeser leaves due to wanting a big contract that is too much for Allvin.

Note, I know some of these trades will not happen due to overpayments or doesnt fit team needs, but this thread is mainly hypothetical. Originally, I put in Dermott to the Hawks for a 4th, but I scrapped that idea since that return was underwhelming. Also, I put in a pick for the Sheary trade as well as a prospect in Pelletier for swapping a 3rd rounder

huh. this nakes zero sense. you trade dermott for a 4th when worth a 3rd. you trade brock boeser for litterally nothing. zacha=3rdliner rielly=fringetop4dman and the picks are nice but the players. just keep boeser. conor sheary, why? we get no picks or players back. GGY trade is fine but add a prospect instead of the third

OTT declines
Miller trade actually makes sense
CHI easily accepts, why would Vancouver do that
Van does not get enough for boeser
phi + wsh says no
for 11+ Mil in cap relief to CGY, I hope they have a little more to give van for that
buf says no

Why would the Canucks do this? They’re not a terrible team and have a decent core no reason to be a contract graveyard, status quo for a year and then transform your roster. No reason to trade Boeser for that

Now that I think about it, that is true for the Dermott trade. Originally, I was going to put Lars Eller instead of Sheary and would give us a higher return, but Sheary is the cheaper one.

I know that Boeser will most likely be staying in Vancouver, but I was having trouble thinking about what good enough of a return he is based on value. I was thinking about adding Severson, but he will most likely be off limits, so I put in the high picks and prospects.

For the Flames, not sure which player we should get. I don't think we can get Pelletier etc.

Its obviously not happening since its a hypothetical thread. But I was basing it on when JR said that this is not a playoff team during one of his interviews. So if that was the case, then this would be moves for the long term.
