Trade Explanations:

Islanders Trade:
This is the Sabres trading for their number one goalie for the 2022 season. The Islanders are acquiring a good goalie prospect in Erik Portillo and a fourth round pick, as well as gaining 5 million dollars in cap space. Varlamov would waive his movement clause because the Sabres would give him a chance to be a #1 goalie.

Kings Trade:
This is the Sabres and Kings swapping prospects at positions they have great depth at. The extra fourth is thrown in because of the value difference between a RHD and a LHD.

Flames Trade:
This is the Sabres helping the Flames clear over five million dollars in cap space. The reason Lucic would waive his NTC is because the Sabres would agree to buy him out after the trade. The Flames could sign him after this to a new deal.

Leafs Trade:
The Leafs need to clear cap space and the Mrazek signing has gone about as poorly as it possibly could have. Mrazek would waive his movement clause because the Sabres would give him an opportunity to play in the NHL as a 1B to Varlamov.

Holy commitment. I can't believe you did an entire mock draft in an ACGM all the way to 41. Well put together, the trades seem realistic enough as well

I don't mind this, but feel strongly that UPL will be in the NHL. So reverse the Toronto trade and I'm all set

Awesome. I like picks 9 and 16, and I agree that if the board falls this way that we grab best center/forward available. I kinda hope that pick 28 and 41 are right d, if there is anything close to reasonable (it seems like there's 2 right going in the top 16 and both are going in the top 5). I don't think upl has done enough to guarantee a spot, so im ok with taking mrazek AS LONG AS WE GET VARLAMOV. If upl beats out mrazek, then mrazek goes to Rochester. A second is as little as I would possibly take for mrazek, if adams said "it's a first or try arizona", I would not be upset. Obviously we have to hit the floor, but we absolutely don't need to help our competition for pennies on the way.

Like your picks at 9 and 16, Nazar is a dog. Like trades 1 and 2 and don't mind the Toronto one but think that pick should be a year or 2 earlier.Hell of a job, but wow you had a run on RD in the Draft, some of those guys aren't even ranked in the top 50. Luneau and Chelsey could be there at 28 or around there, maybe Lamoureux at 41.
