Please let me know what's way off base!

A little tight to the cap this season but there is a ton of old money off the books in 2023, Ryan, Eller, Keith, Glendenning, Lucic, Smith (more than $13.5M) to really re sign Bouchard and Skinner.

Vanacek is signed long enough that he could shoulder more of the workload in years 1 and 2 of the deal while transitioning to Skinner more in 3 and 4. If you get to year 2 of this deal and it's not working out but Skinner and Vanacek are easy enough pieces to move

I think the Oilers missed another play driving C this playoffs, they were deeper than they have been on the wings but when there is no C to drive lines in the bottom half of the line up you end up playing 2 lines with a couple rotating wingers, Eller brings some stability and Glendenning brings playoff success, stability and a Ken Holland guy.

Big part of acquiring Eller is to get Puljujarvi a C to paly with that showcases how strong JP is in his defensive zone, I think this third line takes away a ton of D Zone starts for both McDavid and Draisaitl.

There are still some holes on the blue line but I think Kulak and Bouchard solidify the back end while Keith as ugly as his play was some games shelters Broberg in limited minutes, I think Brobreg developing on the right side could be a really nice add for the Oilers.
