I'm now Entirely convinced that Nolan Patrick will be the pick when we get to the draft! However, I'm going to be slightly cynical here and say he doesn't make the team out of camp.

I don't think it'll be because he is or isn't NHL ready. Instead, It'll probably be because he hasn't played a full season since '15-'16. They'll tell him to do the same things they told Provorov and Hart the last two years, go be the best player at your position (or in his case, the best player in junior hockey period) and we'll see you next year. It's unfortunate, but not out of the realm of possibility.

As for the trade, I heard that they were looking into getting Mrazek, but i'd say Howard is more likely to be moved. He didn't have a horrible season last year, and I think he'd be a suitable "bridge" goalie for the next two years at a not so horrible price. I'd assume it would take more than what I've offered here, but i'd like to find out.
