I see now why you asked!

Do you think Nino is a better option than Jake? Or just a cheaper option?

Going off of the comment above, I don't think CAR would pull that move, Voracek isn't exactly young and has a huge contract. I don't see why Carolina wouldn't just go straight to Minny to trade for the younger and cheaper Nino themselves.

It really just has to do with age IMO. They both are pretty solid by advanced metrics, but Nino being three years younger just makes him more appealing to me since and would be a nice way to transition the core to a younger long term competitor. I think Nino would be around Jake's age by the time the Flyers are really ready to compete and could grow up with our young blue line like Ghost, Provorov, Sanheim and the the young forward group of TK, Lindblom, #2 pick, etc.

Jake is only 28 which is still pretty young IMO. It's not like he is Kesler/Perry/Getzlaf age. And the only reason I don't see CAR being able to work out that kind of deal with MIN with Faulk is because MIN has enough defenders already and a cap issue as it stands. Unless CAR is willing to take on a contract like Parise/Pominville I don't think MIN would have interest in Faulk when they have Dumba/Brodin/Suter/Spurgeon. Logistically it doesn't make sense for MIN whhen they should be looking for cheaper depth options and ELCs (IMO). Rubtsov and two pretty high picks seems fair. The compensation of an offer sheet is a 2018 1st and 3rd. I basically sent them the 1st rounder, a first round pick from last year, and would even change it to a 2018 2nd (instead of 3rd).
