Trades
1.
DAL
  1. Petry, Jeff
Additional Details:
He's 34, has 3 (!) years left and a cap hit of $6.25m. Why would Dallas want him (especially for assets)?
MTL
2.
DAL
  1. Burns, Brent
Additional Details:
He's 37!!! $8m for 3 more years. I don't care if he's still useful we have Suter, we don't need any more senior citizens.
SJS
3.
DAL
  1. Zucker, Jason
Additional Details:
We've got enough bad contracts thank you very much.
PIT
4.
DAL
  1. Holl, Justin
Additional Details:
The best of the bunch but Dallas needs a better RHD.
TOR
5.
DAL
  1. Barrie, Tyson
Additional Details:
Klingberg appears to be gone so if we could get Barrie on the cheap I'd be OK with it but Dallas would be foolish to trade anything more than a 3rd.
EDM
6.
DAL
  1. Hronek, Filip
Additional Details:
THIS IS THE GUY THEY SHOULD GO AFTER.

i understand that they are not really attractive option. i think most team would rather a good young player instead of an older one with more cap hit. but chances are one team might trade for some of these players and it might be dallas, like they'll have to go somwhere. chances are most stay with their current team. we'll see!

To be fair every Burns trade I’ve seen on this site has him at least retained and/or cap going back to San Jose. And burns is better than suter

If San Jose is willing to eat $2-3M on Burns, it’s not an automatic “no” from Dallas (depends on what they want in return too)

I’ve said all along, if the Habs are willing to make a deal NOT involving Bourque, Stankoven, Johnston, or a 1st then there MIGHT be something there, but simply put Petry isn’t worth any of the assets listed above, even with retention.

Holl I’d be okay with as a #3 RD. He’d be very cheap too

Barrie isn’t an ideal top-4 at all, but he’d be cheap.

Hronek’s likely going to cost more than I’d want to pay, but I’m at least asking Detroit what he costs

Lundkvist is a fine option, but isn’t quite ready to jump into the lineup full time yet. He’s a good long-term choice for Dallas, but doesn’t provide much in the short term.
