Detroit passes, Simek doesn't fit the mold of what Yzerman builds on the blue line, Like guys around 6'1" to 6'8". And besides we've Jake Walman already in his spot on the bottom pairing.

NYR - I haven't crunched the numbers, but at face value I think the Rangers would respond kindly to this. They would however want to push the draft pick to 23' or 24' as they only have 4 22' picks at the time of this writing. If that's acceptable I believe they make the deal. Alternatively, if the NYR trough wheeling and dealing post 1-2 more 22' picks on the board, then I think they would respond positively offer you have proposed.
