Free Agency:
Ryan Murray: Coming off of a cup win with the Avs, Murray is a defender who is often injured but solid when he plays. He would get a raise from his last contract on a 1-year deal to help solidify the bottom pair for the Sabres.
Andrew Polturalski: The best player in the AHL last year signs up for a chance to make the roster of his hometown team.
Eric Comrie: He was a really good backup last year for the Jets, however, this opportuinity allows him to get more games and have financial security. With this current roster, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen would get AHL games as well as NHL games this season in a 3 goalie set up.
Sami Niku: A chance to be the 7th defenseman while he resets his career.
Adam Gaudette: A chance for the former Hobey Baker winner to reset his career. If he is bad, no risk for the Sabres.

Trade:
Edmonton gets rid of tow LTIR guys and gives up a future 5th to do so. This helps Edmonton because it allows them to accrue cap space for the trade deadline. It also helps Buffalo get to the floor. A 2024 5th is fair value.

trading Klefbom, who is going into LTIR/retirement is pointless - does not count against cap for Oilers, Sabres are over the floor without.

Now, 5th round pick and 2,2 mil cap hit for goalie, who Sabres do not need at all.

    Easy pass.
