Description
This is definitely not the sexiest lineup, but it's within reason and massively improves the defense. Goalie is admittedly a bit of a wildcard but the bank is not broken, and that long-term flexibility under the cap is massively important going forward. Sanheim, Myers and Stolarz remain in the AHL and may come up if injuries create opportunities for them. It's unlikely the Flyers will start the season with tons of rookies, so in this lineup there is just the Hagg and Lindblom, who has proven himself in the SHL. Patrick or Hischier, whoever we draft at #2 overall, stays in the juniors while Filppula tries to give us 1 good year.

Might be enough to get Manson but bieksa already said he'd waive so he won't be protected. In this scenario they'd be choosing between Manson or Silfverberg

Bieksa has never said he'd waive it, I think it was just a rumour that went vial. Last reports from a few days ago were that Bob Murray is trying to make a deal with McPhee about who to / not to select.

Exactly. I'm treating the Bieksa waiver as pure rumor, so the Flyers would basically be competing with Vegas in terms of compensation, along with any other interested club. Ducks fans would know their situation better than I. I'm just trying to be realistic. It's a good haul for the Ducks given their expansion draft exposure on D. At some point, if they know they're losing a good player, they have to decide what is the best price they can extract from his loss. Morin is NHL ready and got his debut late last year and looked pretty good. Cousins, I love the agitator aspect of his game, and his breakout passes are very good. He's a cost controlled, good contributor for the third line, and I'd been hearing the Ducks need low cost, effective forwards for their cap situation. For the Flyers, I think it gives them a playoff capable defense right away, and the future pipeline remains rich with the highest ceiling blue chips in Sanheim and Myers. Arguably they still need another scoring winger, but I'm high on Oskar Lindblom.
