Some good ideas here. I think Burakovsky would take term over one year of big money but who knows. I expect we take on JVR and or Zucker. I’m wondering if we are resigning Lankinen. He hasn’t been signed yet so slight indication we won’t but wouldn’t be surprised if he’s back either. I’d still like to trade out Murphy or McCabe to open up a spot for a younger guy. You forgot to sign Kakko.

Good ideas, totally blanked on not signing KK..thank you. Yes, agree on Murphy so sent him to Colombus. McCabe I'm not sure is tradeable at this point and he's home in Chicago with a NTC so not sure he'll waive. Probably best to hold onto him for another year. Agree on JVR or Zucker, whomever gives us the best cap dump package and then we flip them at the deadline; if we play our cards right maybe will be able to get a 1st and (2) 2nds or a 2nd and 3rd by the end of it.

As with most trades, the Jackets would probably be more interested in moving some forward depth and LD prospects instead. I'm not sure they'd be willing to pay a 1st for a D that could end up replaced in a 2-3 years now that they have Jiricek, Ceulemans, Mateychuk and Svozil coming up.

McCabe only has a 7 team no trade list. I would feel bad for him. I know he just signed here and wanted to come here for his family. But if you get rid of Murphy you don’t need to get rid of McCabe. Have quite a few guys who could be in rotation on bottom pair and AHL and getting rid of one of them achieves that (would not be suggesting this if we weren’t tanking.) I think we need to cash in on Murphy before it’s too late. His return right now should be pretty good. I’d rather take JVR over Zucker if the packages to take them on are relatively similar. I think he produces more than Zucker and gets a better return if we can flip him at the deadline. I’m wondering if tomorrow is Kane’s last day as a Blackhawk.

If they have a good forward prospect, we need one
