Description
I believe the trade/signing for Gostisbehere fills the hole left by Barrie's trade to Tampa for the rights to Drouin. Drouin and MacK reunited will be a huge plus on offense.

The D improves with the signing of Alzner (money should be close) and with the 4th overall pick of Miro Heiskanen. Not sure if Philly trades the #2 overall and the rights to Gostisbehere for Duchene, Barberio, and a 4th rounder, but I feel they would for the established and still young Duchene.

I like the TBay trade, but PHI is giving up too much for Duchene. Why wouldn't they just draft Patrick and keep Ghost?

With Provorov, Myers and Sanheim likely to be Philly's future on the backend, they pull the trigger on getting a skilled and proven forward. Patrick is unproven and isn't projected to have as large of a ceiling as Duchene. Plus, Duchene has played with Simmons and Giroux internationally. I see what you're saying here, but Gost was benched towards the end of the season so getting a large piece for someone they might not be sold on could be worth it.

You are not getting the #2 overall and Ghost for Duchene. I am not sure if the Flyers would even do that for MacKinnon.

    1. Ghost wasn't benched at the end of the season so idk what you are talking about.
    2. Ghost is a known. Sanheim/Myers could bust. Not giving up Ghost just because we have good prospects. That is just awful asset management.
    3. There are guys in the draft that are projected to be just as good as Duchene in Glass/Suzuki. How can you say the consensus "better" player has no chance to be as good - that's ridiculous to even argue.

.. To answer to the trade the Flyers pass without even thinking unless we are getting #4 overall. It's basically Duchene for Ghost and swapping spots to make up the difference between Ghost/Duchene. Definitely not getting a 3rd or anything else.

If you don't religiously follow the Flyers, than I understand why you claim that. All prospects are unproven, thats what makes them prospects. Patrick is going to have a similar career to Nick Bjudstad + some scoring. Nico Hischier will fall to us at 2. International play has zero effect on NHL trades.
