To make this trade work LA would need retention, and I don't see Toronto having the cap space to do that. There could be another team holding some cap hit, but I don't think that 3rd would add much gravity to cap floor team.

Why? U need players. You could retain half at the deadline and sell him for more. He has some value and it’s not like the hawks are in any cap trouble

We have Seth Jones, Murphy, and Regula and Mitchell that both need to come up fighting for the 3rd line. Holl is of no use unless we trade Murphy
