Unless Miller falls off a cliff this season, he's not re-signing for that little.

I think his genuine value at this point (if he were a UFA this offseason) would be 8.5-9x7. So the thought with this contract is that its kind of a compromise on years (VAN would want 5 MAXIMUM and JT would want 7/8) and the hope is that the team does well enough during the 2022-23 that Miller wants to stay anyways. 50+mil aint nothing.

If he's taking a short-term deal, he's going to want 9.5M+ to maximize his income. It's unlikely at 33 he's producing 99-point seasons.

I mean, I'd hardly say that a 6 year deal is considered short-term
