Do the bruins need to ask a move to be cap compliant before they can put guys on ltir or are they set?

Craig smith or foligno seem to be popular get off the books move here, is that needed or just fans hating on them?

at some point they'll probably have to trade someone, but no rush as Gryz, Marchand and McAvoy are LTIR eligible. Id say Reilly is the most likely, I'd prefer a mid-season move as they'll need Reilly with Gryz/Mac out for a couple months

just saw the cap friendly tweet about how they can become cap compliant, so not a big issue right now. Just curious bc Smith would be someone I would love the Avs to check in on if the Bruins truly had to move out a decent contract soon
