Description

i still feel like this team could be better if they would move barrie, but since they won’t this is what they have. flip foegele for a young depth forward that doesn’t have a clear future with san jose plus a great penalty killer. gregor should get that chance in the top 9 here assuming holloway starts in the minors. the defense is decently balanced assuming that broberg can make the jump, niemelainen should be a fine 7D that will play his role if they decide to go 11F/7D. i assume yamo and puljujarvi would swap in the lineup but i kinda like this version

I'm inclined to say yes because of the pick but that's a lot of cap for a 25-29 point a season player. and he is signed through next year as well.

I don’t think it’s worth it for San Jose. Both guys are cheaper than Foegle and bring more to the team.

while I 100% agree in terms of Nieto and Gregor being more valuable because of their cheaper combined cap hit, the 2nd in a crazy deep draft like this one could net us another Ferraro, Bordeleau, Gushin, Robins type player! and since I don't see us in the payoffs this year or next why not take the risk? not saying we should but this kind of deal should be at least considered though.
