OP, explain to us WHY you think Gerard is worth a 1st and 2nd round piece, and a ~40 OA pick?

Why are u describing the players by where they were picked at lol. Who cares when they were picked, what matters is their performance to date. Lundestrom likely won’t be used at a 2C spot with strome there, and comtois’ time in Anaheim seems to be coming to an end with how it’s gone there. U could argue keeping lundestrom for when strome isn’t good enough to be a 2C and when his contract expires, but this is all a good price to pay for a defenceman with a lot of potential. LD is a need for the ducks right now and in the future and I think this trade benefits both teams

Not quite, we are set at left with the exception of this and maybe next season, it's right D where we will have a hole soon. We have Benoit and Vaakanainen competing for 3L, Zelwegger in the pipeline with Mintyukov, and Fowler locked up for another 4 years, out left D is set, and if we want a guy for a season or two we can just go sign someone for free.

Comtois had a bad season last year due to injury and having a house full of cast offs when he came back, the year before that he was our teams leading scorers, so not sure where this "Comtois is done in Ana" stuff is coming from. We just resigned Lundestrom but cut Milano, so we clearly believe he has some strong upside, and 2C is likely to be taken over by McTavish soon, Lundy will likely end up at 3C or 2-3L.
