After every contract expires this year there is about 37.5mil to resign players that weren’t already.

My pointers on this team.

1. We shouldnt pay for Kane, wait until next year and see if we can win him in FA. Like Giroux.
2. Hoglander trade feels like Quantity over Quality.
3. Buffalo won't do that Samuelsson trade. Samuelsson is definitely more valuable to us than Brannstrom. A lot better player.
4. Is probably not bad value considering Larkin is a UFA. I doubt Detroit does this trade, and I don't think buffalo should considering he most likely wouldn't resign with us.
5. Last trade is not good for the sabres. UPL isn't ready to start, and Craig Anderson isn't even NHL level anymore. I would do a Comrie - UPL pairing for the next couple years until Levi comes.

As a Sabres fan, I’d hope we only consider the Pk88 trade if he signs an extension here. However, he wants to play for a contender again, so he’s not gonna accept a trade here right now.
Maybe he reconsiders if you’re Dylan Larkin trade happens,
but we’re giving up A LOT in that deal- and a few of the pieces i know we’d want to keep (namely Savoie & Asplund)
I know we’d have to give to get, but i think we’d try to move some other pieces besides those 2 guys.
*and Larkin would have to come with a long term extension for us to even consider giving up what it would take to get him

I don’t wanna nitpick your trades, but the Samuelsson for Brannstrom deal has ZERO chance of happening
Samuelsson was paired with Dahlin at the end of last season & looked good there. Those 2 will play together again on our top pair (to start at least) instead of rushing Power into that role.

To answer your overall question….
At the end of the day, adding Larkin & Kane look good on paper, but that’s not enough to make us “contenders”

The goaltending is still quite questionable,
and a majority of the team is still very young & needs more development

Was getting greedy towards the end lol figured hes disgruntled player and Devil fans have a lower value for him rn but wanted him for buffalo because he still has the talent
