Mayfield is almost the exact same age as Miller. I agree the trade doesn’t work tho. NYI would want to keep Mayfield for their playoff run anyway. Beauvillier and a first is probably the most the isles could offer at the deadline, but I’d expect them to be outbid anyway.

Isles r better off keeping Beau, Mayfield and their first rn. They can’t afford to acquire Miller when Barzal and Wahlstrom need new contracts this off-season. Then the isles have to sign Sorokin to an extension as well.

Isles have an aging roster, but the real reason Lou doesn’t have that much flexibility is because of the fact he has to sign Barzal and Soroky to contract extensions.

The reason the Canucks wont sign JT long term is due to age, with Mayfiled being a ufa as well it creates very little interest from our end, I just dont see the canucks and isles as good trading partners
