Isles likely accept, Soucy as a third pair d making basically the same as Mayfield sounds good to me. If it were up to me the condition would make it a 2024 1st instead of a 2023 1st. Isles haven’t picked in the first round since 2018 lol

Avs might do that but only if there are injuries or guys like Meyers aren't playing well. Donny is an okay player but he doesn't do anything particularly well; there are better targets out there at the TDL.

Avs also already know that Donskoi is a negative possession player in their system who doesn't gel with Compher on their third line. He also doesn't PK.

After adding ERod they've also got two middle 6 RHS forwards including Compher, so there's no need for Donskoi.

Avs will be aiming higher than Donskoi by targeting a 2C or top 6 forward. Possibly they add another depth forward but it would more than likely be someone versatile who can play a few different roles including PK, center, faceoffs, etc.

Really? I wouldn't bother. We have Cholowski, Aho, and Salo fighting for the last two spots on D. Let's see what we have with those guys before trading for someone like Soucy.

Fair take. One thing I find intriguing about Soucy is that he had a .33ppg ratio, and was a +7 on a fairly underwhelming Seattle team. For a 3LD, I think he could be quite the luxury for any team, but especially so with the Islanders. Aho is a very good 7th D-man, Cholowski has upside but his work ethic and personal discipline has hurt his development, Salo is a guy I could see surprising many this season (he has to, it's his final year to do something before being coined a "bust"). These moves would all occur at the deadline. With the Islanders, I could see this season being one of those that I am certain Isles fans are quite accustomed to in recent years - everyone writes the Isles off, they outperform their projections, things go right for them, and come April, you're in the thick of things out East.
