-I can't see Edmonton jumping at a Sandheim rental. Nurse is their clear LD1, they paid Brett Kulak good money to presumably be LD2, and Philip Broberg looks ready. Maybe if someone gets hurt or those last two guys forget how to play hockey they do it? But can't see it otherwise.

-I think Columbus thinks about it, it lowers their current cap hit while adding an extra year of Atkinson's $5.75M to their obligations - but that year would be 2024-25, when it's widely believed the cap will jump up and it won't be as hard to bury/buy out/dump that year if Atkinson falls apart.

-As it stands right now, I don't see Nashville making this trade; but if they're in a strong playoff position and want to upgrade the team at next year's deadline, I could see the value. I just feel like Konecny would be a 3rd liner on their current team, and that's a lot of assets + cap space to devote to a 3rd liner.

To be honest I wouldn’t be surprised to see chuck Fletcher fired and see Julien BriseBois has the new president and Kevin McDonald has the new GM

I know that this is way out of the box, but none of the moves are completely unrealistic...

I suspect we're more likely to just want the cap ASAP and be done with it, seeing as though that's also the year that KJ, Sillinger, Roslovic, Marchenko, Robinson, Danforth, Bemstrom, Bean, and Blankenburg all need new contracts. No guarantee that all those guys are still Blue Jackets by the time the year rolls around, but there's enough high-profile future core names in that list that I would still expect a desire to maximize available cap.
