Description
Veleno Starting if Copp is out, otherwise sent down to GR. Elmo 2nd line. Vrana just hasn't been as impressive and jives well with Zadina. Should allow Elmo enough TOI to inflict some pain on the enemy and score some points.

Derek Lalonde already said that both Copp and Sundqvist are good to go Friday night against Montreal.i

I don't know what you consider impressive but Vrana in 37 games as a Red Wing he has 21 goals and 30 points and his G/60 in all situations was 2nd with only Matthews ahead of him.

True, but I was considering how training camp/preseason looked like. I think it might be worth putting that skill level with Zadina in a 3rd line with either Suter or Rasmusses (Rasmussen imo). I guess Vrana and Elmo are largely interchangeable, but I think playstyle and speed will be relevant to what players are best suited to play with each other. Vrana/Rasmussen/Zadina just feels right and I think Elmo will work well with Perron/Copp. Just not a huge fan of burying Big E in a 4th line. But either way, however you swing it, I'm excited to see what the guys can do.

Copp has played a lot of wing in the NHL and now Detroit wants him to be their 2C. So him succeeding is more important than giving Söderblom a lot of minutes and Perron and Vrana give Copp the best chance to succeed.
Datsyukian liked this.
