Last year, Jesper Bratt was benched for a period vs Calgary. Since then, 90 points in 83 games.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. He is a good player and is not just going to be given away because he had a bad period.

Being paired with Smith is no bargain either ... I'd like to see what Sever with Bahl would produce.

Severson was deservedly benched for one period yes, but that doesn't negate 10 games of perfectly fine top 4 level play.
There's no need to trade Severson, he's playing a very important role for the Devils.
