**PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A JOKE POST. I DO NOT THINK THIS WILL EVER HAPPEN.**
... but it's fun to dream.

The day is November 17th, 2022. Kyle Dubas and Sheldon Keefe's team aren't having that great of a season... so Brendan Shanahan comes up to them with a project to improve the team.

"Kyle, this is the Toronto team. I think its time to rebuild... but while we're at it, lets make this team FULLY comprised of Torontonians." Shanahan says to Dubas. Before anything else can be said, Shanahan leaves the room. Dubas assumes that his job is in danger if he doesn't complete this objective... so he gets to work.

There are 23 active (in NHL) players from Toronto... and none of them are goalies. Dubas will have to make do. Here are the players:

Mark Giordano [on TOR]
Andrew Cogliano
Dougie Hamilton
Zach Hyman
Connor Brown
Casey Cizikas
Chris Tanev
Evan Rodrigues
Barclay Goodrow
Jordan Kyrou
Brandon Tanev
Adam Pelech
Jamie Oleksiak
Jake Evans
Mario Ferraro
Jamie Drysdale
Givani Smith
Joseph Cramarossa
Michael Pezzetta
Ty Dellandrea
Liam Foudy
Jack McBain
Wyatt Johnston

However, there is one goalie who currently has an NHL contract, and that is Malcolm Subban. So it seems as if there will be one goalie and one skater in net.

If this did happen, Toronto would be adding to a Brodie and Tanev trade. Tanev is to important to this d-core

Why not just keep Brodie and Marner, noted Ontarians?

Why do the isles want an 11m declining C with a full NMC for the rest of his contract? It has nothing to do with him leaving he just doesn’t make any sense for NYI.
