I know he's supposed to be good but is Walsh even a top 3 or top 5 prospect in NJ?

Why would the Kings want less than one season of a third goaltender in exchange for many seasons of the prospect who is seen as the replacement for Matt Roy?

Depends on who you ask. He is a solid two-way guy that the analytics types love. But unclear if he will more than 3rd pair type, especially with the RD we have ahead of him.

Id say our best prospects are (tiers)

I: Hughes, Nemec
II: Holtz, Gritsyuk, Mukhamadulkin
III: Foote, Casey, Bardakov, Walsh, Filmon, Thompson
IV: Bahl, Okhotiuk, Edwards, Salminen, Clarke
V: McCarthy, Hauser, Shlaine
VI: Hurtig, Moynihan, Talvitie, Leddy, Orlov, Barabosha, Vukojevic

So he is probably in 6-10 range. But closer to NHL-ready than most of these guys.

I would imagine that they would only want one of Walsh or Foote and then a 1st round pick so that they could make their own selection, if they can't have both then they would probably prefer the 1st over the prospect, but Boqvist and Johnsson aren't going to hold much value so they should be able to get a 1st+a prospect out of him.
