Description
We’re in a terrible slump and are not scoring crap! What do we do? We just lost 4-0 at home to the Arizona Coyotes! I’m sure as hell not saying "Fire Brind’amour" yet as that would be too much of an overreaction, but I’m definitely in panic mode. Right now it’s so bad to the point we are fighting to stay in the playoffs, when on paper we should be one of the best teams in the league. And our power play still sucks, even worse than last year.

Honestly, at this point, you fire Rod. He's been the reason the team has been knocked out of the playoffs every year after the ECF run in 2018-19. Keeping the Staal line together last year when it did jack and sh*t on the road in the postseason, a PP that seems to be WORSE UNDER ROD THAN IT WAS UNDER PETERS. The only defense to keep him is "oh, he's got a great winning percentage" which speaks more about how GOOD THIS TEAM IS ON PAPER. You take Rod and you fire him via promotion into management. That's the simple solution. He clearly doesn't know how to use Brent Burns, he clearly doesn't want to put Necas in his best position, and he does not know how to use Stastny. This isn't good enough. Losing 4-0 to the Coyotes should be the straw breaking the camels' back, but it won't be because the organization holds Rod to some nonsensical fantasy of what he means. He's valued by the Canes more than the Oilers value WAYNE F*CKING GRETZKY. Honestly, sack him and cut the sentiment.

Now I will preface this by saying that I don't watch a ton of the canes games, but the ones I do, they come across as volume shooters.

Maybe it is time to acquire someone with a really good shot and rely on quality over quantity? I know you got andrei but more then one quality shooter can't hurt.

Like I consistently see 30+ shot games with a shutout or 1 goal for.

The Canes have the weapons to score at will and score like crazy. The final 5 minutes in Winnipeg showed that. The win against Edmonton showed that. The biggest problem that they face is that they are too defensively oriented, and while the defensive game is a strength, it can’t draw away from the offense. While Rod has been amazing as a coach for the Canes, he just hasn’t been able to draw out the lethal offense that we know the Canes have. You also can’t blame Rod for coaching a defensive style of play when he was one of the best defensive 2-way players of all time. Injuries so far this season have not helped the Canes offense. Being without Patches for the majority of the season is a lot of offense being lost, now add in Turbo being out, and even Kase, the Canes have lost too much of their offense due to injuries. Firing Rod is not the solution in the long run. Whoever is running the PP needs to be sacked, that’s for sure, but firing Rod is not the answer. If the Canes can get their defensive game back to where it was last season, but get the offensive mentality that teams like Colorado have, where the net front role is actually filled, and they have constant movement and a shoot first mentality, they will be a much more lethal team. As good as the Staal line has been, it’s a line built for grinding in the playoffs, not to generate offense in the regular season.

Well first off you fire Rod! Demote Jesperi BUSTaniemi!
Waive Stastny! And trade Slavin to the Jets for a 7th round pick and you'll be good to go once you have those monkeys off your back!!!!.... 😉
