Jfc, that’s more than we got for Eichel.
It’s a ridiculous overpay

And Chychrun makes little sense for us
We can’t afford to pay him on his next contract with Power & Dahlin set to get big raises.
Need some Cap Space left for all the young forwards we’re developing- can’t have it all wrapped up in defense

Bottom line:
Acquiring him, just to turn around & flip him in a year & a half or so, would be a dumb move.

Ideally, going forward, P 1 Dahlin/Samuelson, P 2 Power/Joki, P 3 a cost effective LHD in the around $2 mill range/LyBush.

Johnson could/could've been that guy, but he thinks he just getting a spot, when most Dmen have to play in the AHL for some time.

Even if Johnson doesn’t sign, i think we’ll be fine on the 3rd pair
Once we find a legit partner for Power (or Jokiharju/Lyubushkin settles into that role good enough),
then we’ll only need that 3rd pair for 12ish minutes a night anyways

I do think we should look to upgrade RD2,
but Chychrun is the wrong guy for that spot for a bunch of reasons
