Description
I think there's a chance Hughes goes in hard for picks and gets 2-3 more firsts. Idk how likely it is but I wouldn't say its out of the picture nor would I be against selling when guys values are high
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Lucic, Milan
  2. 2023 1st round pick (CGY)
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Maybe add a bit more if another team like NJ is pushing hard, but I dont think Hughes will sell for lower than this even if you think he's barely worth a 3rd
2.
MTL
  1. Puljujärvi, Jesse
  2. 2023 1st round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Its basically a 1st and then pool party gives cap and a small amount of value. Again, maybe he goes for a bit more if a bunch of teams are in on him but I don't think Hughes has any reason to sell if he's getting less than this
3.
MTL
  1. Beaucage, Alex
  2. 2023 1st round pick (COL)
  3. 2023 5th round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Monahan is on track for over 50 points, I could honestly seem him going for more than this as I wouldn't be surprised if Hughes even resigns him, which gives him no reason to sell low
COL
  1. Monahan, Sean ($3,187,500 retained)
4.
MTL
  1. 2023 5th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Just to any team who wants a cheap rental, same with Drouin or Byron if they're wanted at all
PIT
  1. Dadonov, Evgeni ($2,500,000 retained)

Nice job putting us in cap hell with Lucic coming off the books to go towards Huberdueau and Weegar's extensions.

Besides half retention, would you take back Galchenyuk please.

Flames don't consider that. Calgary would literally have to pay another 1st just to dump Anderson in the offseason

"cap hell", projections are $1-4M increase, if cap goes up $4M it almost a wash, but longer term, it benefits Calgary as the cap is expected to go up significantly and they have established contracts, so, 1 year, big deal, they could manage it.

Now whether its a good fit, that's a different story.

As for the Edmonton one, it addresses an LD problem, and makes them harder to play against, but then it creates a hole on the RW that we don't have the depth to fill.

-Anderson to Calgary makes zero sense. Lucic's contract expires this summer, and the extensions that were given to Huberdeau and Weegar were based partially on that cap hit disappearing. Now you've added it back and put them in a position where they have to dump money just to ice a 20 man roster next year. Horrible deal for the Flames, they pass easily.

-I could see there being value here, but I hate the idea of spending a 1st on Edmondson after his recent injury history. I think that's enough of a red flag that it might depress his return.

-When everyone is healthy, who does Monahan replace? JT Compher, maybe? Compher's 3-10-13 in 24 GP this year; Monahan is 6-11-17 in 25 GP. Are you giving up a prospect and a 1st for that type of upgrade? It just seems excessive, especially for a Colorado team that's only had two top-60 picks in the past 3 drafts, and last year only had picks in the 6th & 7th rounds. It doesn't make sense for a team that's already spent so much draft capital (and won the Cup, fwiw) to spend a huge chunk more on an incremental upgrade.

-You're stuck with Dadonov (and Drouin & Byron for that matter) barring a miracle turnaround from either of them. Dadonov's production is sub-replacement, so no team is going to dedicated a $2.5M cap hit to him; Drouin being injured yet again just highlights the biggest red flag with him, and Paul Byron hasn't even begun skating yet - how can you anticipate any sort of return for him at this point?
