I don't think Domi is a good fit for NY. They need RW guy, not another LW guy. Laffy is fine in the 3rd line role, and switching a struggling top prospect (putting his struggles into perspective), switching him to the RW on the top 6 is probably not going to yield better results.

Laf played his best hockey this season on that line with Panarin and Trocheck at the start of the season. I understand the concerns about playing on his off wing but he has looked good on that wing and has said he doesn’t mind it, he has the talent to play anywhere and I think the most important factor for him is to just get consistent top 6 minutes. That’s why I think Domi would be a good fit for us, versatile playmaker that can take faceoffs and actually be effective if he has to move up in our lineup (rather than goodrow, vesey, etc). I just believe that he would be a much better option for watch we actually need than a guy like Kane because of his versatility and cost.

Sharks decline, no reason to move a vet D at league minimum with another year on his deal for that.
