Hawks decline. Domi half retained gets at least a 2nd.

Yamamoto would be worth a second alone. Therefore, this trade is an overpay for EDM. Take the third out.

Hawks aren't trading domi to get a player that they'd have to turn around and trade again. Hawks want picks and prospects. Not Yamamoto.

Sorry but I disagree. That's not accurate IMO. Domi at half retained is worth at least a late 2nd. Yamamoto is struggling this year, and one could argue not earning his $3M cap hit; 12 points in 31 games is simply not a $3M player. That said, someone may take a flying on him for a 2nd rounder saying this season is a fluke and last season is more accurate to what he is, but more accurately, he's probably worth a 3rd rounder as of now given this season. (2) 3rds do not equal a 2nd or 2nd + for Domi.

The odds CHI gets a better player late in the second round is very low, not to mention he’s still young, cost controlled and several years into his development. A 0.5ppg player, add a 3rd and your looking an overpayment for a rental. Oilers decline if CHI called them with the offer.
