-Drouin and Dadonov have not proven they're worth much of anything at the deadline - even with 50% retention their cap hits are $2.75M and $2.5M, yet they produce like 4th liners. I think the best way for Montreal to get value for them is to send them out with a later pick to a 3rd team that double retains them down, and then the acquiring team sends back a better pick (ie, Drouin & a 5th go to Buffalo, Sabres retain Drouin down to $1.375M and sends him to contending team, contender sends Montreal a 3rd.) But getting back multiple picks, even if they're mid/late-rounders? I don't see it.
-Edmundson has been terrible, but so was Chiarot; I'll argue that Eddy's injury history makes him more of a red flag so you'll have to retain to get that extra pick back. Eddy at $1.75M is worth that package (personally I'd even see if Edmonton includes Pool Party over Foegele for the hope of getting a reclamation project in house.)
-Monahan hasn't played since December 5th. Let's get him on the ice before we trade him out for a 1st+ - one of the reasons the Habs were paid to take him was his injuries piling up and slowing down his production. Sure, he had a good first 25 games this year (6-11-17) - did you know he wasn't that far off that pace last year (7-12-19 through his first 37 GP)? Do you want to know how last season ended? (1-3-4 in his last 28 GP). Do you think teams are just going to ignore that red flag, or....
-Byron is LTIRetired, but even if he was capable of playing, why would the Kings give up anything for him? They're playing Kevin Fiala on the 3rd line - and that's with Arthur Kaliyev and Trevor Moore out with injury. Kings ain't trading for depth wings.
