Trades
1.
MTL
  1. 2023 6th round pick (BUF)
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Low risk, some team will take a chance cus he's cheap, maybe he gets streaky at the right time
BUF
  1. Drouin, Jonathan ($2,250,000 retained)
2.
MTL
  1. 2023 4th round pick (MIN)
  2. 2023 7th round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Again, he's cheap and a veteran having a bad year so somebody will be willing to sacrifice a couple late picks
MIN
  1. Dadonov, Evgeni ($2,500,000 retained)
3.
MTL
  1. Foegele, Warren
  2. 2023 1st round pick (EDM)
  3. 2023 3rd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
WIth gavrikov apparently getting minimum a 1st + early pick, don't expect Edmundson to go for much less
4.
MTL
  1. Kaut, Martin
  2. 2023 1st round pick (COL)
  3. 2023 5th round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Even though some people will say Monahan is overrated and is barely worth a second, i doubt he goes for less than this, its the classic two way forward premium where the defensively responsible rentals get huge packages
COL
  1. Monahan, Sean ($3,187,500 retained)
5.
MTL
  1. 2023 5th round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
If Montreal don't trade a player retained with term next year, maybe Byron gets moved for basically nothing. He's got experience and is defenisvely responsable; with half retained maybe someone takes a chance but then again maybe not
LAK
  1. Byron, Paul ($1,700,000 retained)

Be prepared to be very disappointed if you think that’s the monahan value return

-Drouin and Dadonov have not proven they're worth much of anything at the deadline - even with 50% retention their cap hits are $2.75M and $2.5M, yet they produce like 4th liners. I think the best way for Montreal to get value for them is to send them out with a later pick to a 3rd team that double retains them down, and then the acquiring team sends back a better pick (ie, Drouin & a 5th go to Buffalo, Sabres retain Drouin down to $1.375M and sends him to contending team, contender sends Montreal a 3rd.) But getting back multiple picks, even if they're mid/late-rounders? I don't see it.

-Edmundson has been terrible, but so was Chiarot; I'll argue that Eddy's injury history makes him more of a red flag so you'll have to retain to get that extra pick back. Eddy at $1.75M is worth that package (personally I'd even see if Edmonton includes Pool Party over Foegele for the hope of getting a reclamation project in house.)

-Monahan hasn't played since December 5th. Let's get him on the ice before we trade him out for a 1st+ - one of the reasons the Habs were paid to take him was his injuries piling up and slowing down his production. Sure, he had a good first 25 games this year (6-11-17) - did you know he wasn't that far off that pace last year (7-12-19 through his first 37 GP)? Do you want to know how last season ended? (1-3-4 in his last 28 GP). Do you think teams are just going to ignore that red flag, or....

-Byron is LTIRetired, but even if he was capable of playing, why would the Kings give up anything for him? They're playing Kevin Fiala on the 3rd line - and that's with Arthur Kaliyev and Trevor Moore out with injury. Kings ain't trading for depth wings.

Los Angeles has about 12 wingers qualified to play in the NHL right now, all of whom are younger and better and most of whom are cheaper and bigger than Byron, so why would we trade for a guy who hasn't played a game this season? Ouch.
