This is honestly fair. If you think Kane isn't a good addition, I disrespectfully disagree. Only position needed. a late 1st, a bust of a prospect and a mid 4th liner for an at least good RW is a good deal. The metro isn't the scariest thing ever. Try to win your second cup in 80 years.

Panarin is soon demoted to 3rd line minutes because of his inability to play defensive. Kane might boost his production but won't help with defensive play. He and Panarin would disappear during playoff.
With that said I don't give a you know what about the pieces going to CHI so I'm neutral here about this move.

Canes are not going to give up a future 1st for someone that would be their 3LD. If they're going to do something like that, may as well go big and splash on Chychrun

Patrick Kane's hip means that he's not going to get the kind of value he would. He's not normal Kane, he's hurting and playing through an injury. Combine that with the fact he'd enduring a down year and there's no reason for anyone to willingly take him on at this kind of price

I agree with you on one point, Carolina will add a defenseman but without paying premium picks. I see more getting Jaycob Megna from the Sharks than McAbe, Chychrun and Gavrikov. But they need also an offensive forward and a grittier player to play on the fourth line.

Canes don't need forward depth, they've got guys like Jack Drury back down in chicago. They need another top six forward with Max out, and maybe another RD. Megna isn't the right player, someone like Schenn seems like a better fit.
